"Don't lose who you are, in the blur of the stars," - Jessie J
This picture represents who i want to be when I'm a senior. In this portrait, I tried to display my personality. As you can see, my makeup on my face is split in half on my face. The right side has bright red lipstick. The left side has pink lipgloss and eyeliner with a wing. The red lipstick could be described as being bold. It represents being loud and strong. The pink lipgloss represents elegance and classiness. My eyeliner is the artsy and cute part of my personality. It is artsy because the line shows an element of art (line).
I want my identity as a senior to be who I am today. To achieve this I have to make sure to not let other people try to change me, and always stay true to myself. This is a similar situation from Girl with a Pearl Earring. “‘Take care to remain yourself,’ he had warned me so long ago. I wondered if I had done so. It was not always easy to know,” (Chevalier 232). This means that even though it is hard, always be yourself. This relates to my portrait because all of the ideas that are expressed are both my internal and external personality.
Part of my personality is artsy, creative, and cute. This is also a part of Griet's identity in the story. At the beginning of the book, when Vermeer and his wife went to Griet's home, she was separating the vegetables that she arranged by color. Vermeer noticed them and said, "And then the orange and the purple, they do not sit together," (Chevalier 3). Since he is an artist, he has an eye for creativity. and art. When I am a senior, I would also like to be creative, but in a different way than separating vegatbles.I would like to come up with new ideas and be quick at making decisions. So, to keep being who I am as an art person, I must stay involved with artsy activities, and find art in the everyday world. Since I am in JSA, art also plays a big role in who I am. I enjoy music, acting, and dancing. Even though Griet and have separate hobbies, they both invlove the same idea.
